What you stated was correct, to turn off the DRL system you can depress the parking break. This will also turn on your "Break light " on the dash. WebMar 17, 2008 · The 2001-2006 GM big body SUVs and Trucks all have a problem with at least one of the running lights not working, its kind of strange that GM hasn't recalled it... It looks like you got them (or at least one) to work, but for future reference sometimes they won't come on until you take the parking brake off. :Chevy:
